Have less furniture in the room and removd sharp instruments,ropes,glass items,ties,strings,match boxes etc from patients vicinity.

Keep the environmental stimuli, such as lightining and noise levels ti a minimum,assign a single room to prevent harm to other patient,limit interaction with others.

Stay with the patient as hyperactivity increases to reduce anxiety level and foster a feeling of security.

If the patient is not calmed by talking down and refuses medication,restraints may become necessary.

Redirect violent behavior with physical outlets such as exercise,outdoor activities.

Encourage patient to talk out his agressive feelings, rather than acting them out.

Following application of restrain,observe patient every 15minutes to ensure that nutritional and elimination needs are met.
