Not only hemophilia for most of genetic diseases fruit flies used as model organisms. Since it contains a simple genome and genes of genetic diseases about (60-75)% present in fruit fly. It helps to determine the mutation and expression.

Homologus genes present in fruit flies as in humans are mutated as in genetic mutation of humans. For therapeutic purpose and drug discovery, these flies are used for model which is mutated. And the drugs to be tested are performed in these flies. For to see the reaction and adverse effect of drugs.
