Answer #1

Vitamins are essential nutrients and must be consumed regularly for good health and well being . However vitamins consumed in inappropriate quantities can have serious consequences on our health and our various internal body organs.Sometimes it's necessary for people to consume megadoses of vitamins as a part of therapeutic treatment.

For example vitamin C is an essential vitamin and has several years important applications in our body . However human bodies cannot produce vitamin C on their own ,so it becomes necessary for humans to take vitamin C in the form of supplimentation or from our daily diet.Consuming vitamin C in megadoses has several health benefits and it is sometimes recommend as the part of therapeutic treatment. For example the people with diabetes are recommended to consume high doses of vitamin C as it regulates blood sugar levels.High doses of vitamin C can enhance the working ablility of cancer killing drugs in chemotherapy. High doses of vitamin C can help in improving the symptoms of chronic asthma.

On the other hand ,high doses or excess of some vitamins can be quite harmful for human bodies ,causing toxicity. For example megadoses of vitamin D can cause hypercalcaemia resulting in symptoms like nausia ,poor appetite ,vomiting and several renal problems.

Sometimes it is necessary for humans to rely on supplementations ,as our daily diet might not be containing all the essential vitamins necessary for smooth functioning of our body.People suffering from certain illnesses require large quantities of certain vitamins which is impossible to get from daily diet.As a result suppliments are recommended. Sometimes with our strict working schedule it's impossible to prepare and eat a proper diet containing all essential nutrients. In this case it becomes necessary for us to rely on multivitamin supplements.

However people who eat a proper balanced diet ,need not to consume any multivitamin supplements ,as their diet already contains all essential nutrients.
