In the account of personal experiences with denial what is primitive denial, selective attention, and acting out? Do you think denial is normal or abnormal behavior to get to acceptance of the disability?

Denial is a borderline defence mechanism in which a person refuses to accept the anxiety inducing situations. As it occurs in childhood It is considered and the primitive defence mechanism . Selective attention is the process of focusing our awareness to the stimuli which is relevant and importance while ignoring the unimportant stimulus. Acting out is a pressure releasing phenomenon in which a person express his feelings by performing an extreme behaviour. For example throwing things while a person is angry.

Denial is is the inability to accept the fact. Denial is the characteristic of mania , hypomania and affective disorder. The refusal or ignoring the reality leads to physical exhaustion and it leads to abnormal behaviour.
