What is the pathophysiology of "Guillain-barre syndrome (GBS)" in your own words?

Answer: The Guillain-Barre syndrome is one of the rare disorder in which the body's immune system attacks nerves which includes weakness and tingling as a symptoms, although these symptoms are very quick sensation, it can paralyze whole body. The exact cause of this disease is not yet known by it is followed by an infectious illness such as a respiratory infection or the stomach flu. Symptoms includes such as weakness in legs, unsteady walking or inability to walk or climb stairs. There is also difficulty with eye or facial movements, including speaking, chewing or swallowing.

Guillain-Barre syndrome affects nerves as nerves control movements and body functions, people with Guillain-Barre may experience pain, breathing problem as well as sometimes they get paralyzed. Though the cause is unkown, the only treatment can be given is to provide relief from the symptoms such as Immunoglobulin containing healthy antibodies from blood donors is given through IV(intravenously) but sometimes high doses of immunoglobulin can block the damaging antibodies that may contribute to Guillain-Barre syndrome.
