Step-by-Step Solution

Solution 1

Wilhelm Wundt has described the thoughts as the mental experiences. According to him, the mental experiences or thoughts are composed of the feelings and the sensations. Feelings and sensation are the elements contribute to the consciousness. According to him, sensations are caused by the stimulation of a sense organ. Stimulated sense organ transmits the pulses to the brain.

Sensations are further described by the terms like intensity and modality. Modality further helps in analyzing the qualities of the sensation for example, degree of sweetness, sourness and bitterness helps in describing the taste sensation.

He proved that all the sensations are bounded with the feelings. He concluded that with the help of an incident, when he was listened the metronome beats. He observed that the few beats were more pleasant in comparison with the others. Wundt own introspections resulted in the theory called as the tridimensional theory of feelings.

According to this theory, every feeling can be expressed in the term of the degree of the attitudes they possess. Attributes of the feelings are relaxation-strain, pleasantness-unpleasantness and the calm-excitement.
