Step-by-Step Solution

Solution 1

Introspection is basically used for the self-conscious thoughts and the feelings examination. Introspection is used by the Wundt for the study of the various basic mental processes. These processes are involved in the immediate experiences. Wundt used the introspection in the same way it was used by the sensationalists and the empiricists for the study of the associations and the ideas. Wundt also differentiated the pure introspection from the experimental introspection.

Pure introspection was the unstructured form of the self-introspection as per the early philosophers. Experimental type of the introspection is respectable scientifically. Experimental introspection is made on the basis of the use of the laboratory instruments to modify the conditions around. This modification results in the more precise internal perception.

Wundt was very much inspired by the Gustav Fechner’s methodology behind the use of the introspection for the sensory organs of the humans. Wundt used the introspection more as the psychophysicists and physiologists. Wundt derived the four types of the experimental introspection out of which, two was proven to be wrong. He used introspection to determine the experience of an individual against the specific sensation.
