Step-by-Step Solution

Solution 1

Brentano added that outside object itself referred by the mental acts for example, something is loved, recalled and judged. Brentano introduced a new term later called as the intentionality to express his view that each mental act is incorporate with something outside by itself.

Brentano tried to distinguish between color green that is seen and seeing the color green. He reported that the contents or objects are inseparable with the acts. An event or the object, which is the content of the act, is intended by the mental acts. Brentano implies the term intentionality to all the mental acts those are refers to something outside by itself. He did not use this term of intentionality for any kind of purpose or intention.

For the further study of the intentionality and the mental acts he deduced the form of the introspection, which was deduced to be problematic by the Tichener and the Wundt as well. He has designed the controlled analytical and careful introspection for the study of each and every mental act and the related events.
