Franz Clemens Brentano was the psychologist in the favor of the Wundt for the fact that mental element search implies to the mind with a static view. He was strongly disagreed with the Tichener on the importance of the physiological mechanism acting behind the mental events. Brentano realized that the proper mind study focuses on the processes of the mind not on the biology of the mind or the content of the mind. Brentano’ fact later named as the act psychology. His belief was mental processes have the aim of performing functions. He included the doubting, loving, expecting, hating, hoping and inferring as the part of the mental acts.

Brentano added that outside object itself referred by the mental acts for example, something is loved, recalled and judged. Brentano introduced a new term later called as the intentionality to express his view that each mental act is incorporate with something outside by itself.
