For the genes to be cotransduced, they need to be very close to each other. They should be close enough to enter into the phage particle, at the same time. In the figure 5-30, the genes showing highest frequencies of cotransduction are narC, supF, C and galU genes. They have the highest percent of cotransduction in the experiments conducted.
