Raw data or sampling, in either a qualitative and quantitative study is the core of the research as research is the core of evidence based practice. It is what feeds the study or research. Without it, you have nothing that will support or prove your theory. One thing we learned last week is that “…data analysis [or sampling analysis] are all scrutinized to ensure that the study was sound” (Brown & Schmidt, 2017, p. 405). Therefore, data evaluation can influence an outcome, consequence or visible result in a study or research. “In nursing research, the outcome is frequently known as the dependent variable” (Brown & Schmidt, 2017, p. 471). Therefore, the outcome is depended on the data. This means that outcomes are defined, supported and influenced by the data and data is the sound completed research that provides evidence based practice (EBP). One example in patient care, data or EBP tells us that when caring for a patient in the post anesthesia care unit (PACU), you want to ambulate a patient, when appropriate, to prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and to promote and facilitate peristalsis, but in doing so, you may cause or inflict pain. Therefore, a nurse must select the most appropriate method that will maximize benefits while reducing discomforts and minimizing or completely reducing risks. There are other methods that will prevent DVT, such as the use of compression stockings. A nurse can evaluate which method is most appropriate for the patient to achieve a favorable outcome.

Will the data analysis and EBP helpful in total quality management??

Evidence based practice may help apply best for the Patient to avoid complications..Therefore data guided approch to improve processes or outcomes..For providing quality care for any patient first develop a plan for implementing that should be Evidence based and collect data before and after the intervention..EBP always applies best clinical evidence toward patient-centered care decision..
