As we know, food is the source of energy for our body. It is what keeps our body running. This ranges from basic functions like talking or breathing to microscopic processed like cellular respiration.
The food needs to be broken down into molecular components (fats, carbohydrates, amino acids) to be able to be utilised. This is done by digestion. It is the breaking down of food into particles which can be utilized to produce energy.
Digested food is of no use until it has been absorbed and utilized by the body. After the good has been broken down it needs to be absorbed into the blood and thus be of use wherever it is needed.
