Answer #1

3) tall plant can be either TT or Tt so to determine the genotype test cross can be done that is cross with recessive individual tt

TT*tt will yield only Tt progenies which are tall.

Tt*tt

T t
t Tt (tall) tt (Short)
t Tt (tall) tt (short)

if the plant is Tt then both tall and short plants are produced in ratio 1:1.

4) Incomplete dominance is when heterozygotes produce the intermediate phenotype of homozygotes

example:

in snapdragon

If you cross a n true breeding red flowered plant (RR) to a true breeding white flowered plant (rr)

progenies are all pink coloured (Rr) and in F2 progenies Red:Pink:white=1:2:1

Rr *Rr

R r
R RR (red) Rr (pink)
r Rr (pink) rr (white)

Let's use this equation to solve the following problem: In pea plants, the allele for tall plants (T) is dominant to the allele for dwarf plants (1). If a population of 100 plants has 36 dwarf plants, what is the frequency of each allele? Here is a step-by-step guide: 1. Let p = frequency of the dominant allele (R), and q = frequency of the recessive allele (1). 2.92 = frequency of the homozygous recessive = 36%, or 0.36. Since...
