The complementary deoxyribonucleic acid (cDNA) of size 2 kb hybridized to genome of eight fragments. Moreover, the size consists of 30 kb with short ESTs of 2 in number.
The two fragments, which contained ESTs are 2 Kb size each are probably complementary sequences to the cDNA fragment. The reasons for these conclusions are:
1. Both have ESTs (expressed-sequence tags).
2. Both are 2 Kb in size.
3. Both have hybridized showing that they are totally complementary.
In addition, the cDNA hybridized to other genomic fragments of total size 30 Kb. It is concluded that the hybridized regions might be common in different strands. The hybridized regions might be CG repeats, which are commonly seen in DNA.
