The trait seen in the porcupine man shows that it is Y-linked trait, otherwise it may be dominant autosomal gene in males and recessive in females.
It can be considered as a Y-linked gene because it was passed only to the sons and all the sons were carriers of the disease. Only males inherit genes in the differential region of the human Y chromosome, which they obtain from their fathers. Therefore, fathers transmit the genes present on the Y chromosome to their sons.
