Solutions For An Introduction to Genetic Analysis Chapter 9 Problem 7P

Step-by-Step Solution

Solution 1

In the figure 9.12, the P-site containing tRNA molecule binds to the growing polypeptide chain and the terminal amino acid emerging from the ribosome is at the amino end of the polypeptide chain. The growing polypeptide chain containing the amino end will be the first amino acid as; the tRNA binds to the carboxyl end, allowing the amino end free. The early amino acid would be determined, from the time when translation starts at the 5' end of the mRNA (messenger ribonucleic acid).
