The different patterns of interactomes are because of different gene expressions, which is the key for cellular differentiation. Muscle cells and brain cells are not different in their genome, but different in their gene expression patterns. Even both the cells produce same mRNA (messenger ribonucleic acid), but due to different post-translational modifications the final protein outcome would change significantly. So, different post-translational modifications and the resulting proteins lead to different protein-protein interactions.
